Why do we make products?

We are a company that insists on original products.
Before we founded the company, we also worked in various product companies. We found something very interesting. In fact, there are very few companies that can use industrial design thinking to make products. Even a few companies do not understand what industrial design is. They only know how to imitate a product on the market, modify it, and then sell it. Their goal is to sell things.
During many meetings at work, I found that the leaders of the company did not understand product design at all. They did not even receive professional design education. They only knew the product based on their superficial cognition. Every time I listened to their meetings, I would feel very surprised. Why can a person who does not understand products at all create a product company?
Later, I gradually tried to lead a set of solutions for the same product, and then I came up with a set of solutions according to my ideas. I tried to compare the two solutions myself, and I found that I did not do badly.
So I gradually had the idea of ​​leading the product myself.
In fact, the most important point in making a product is whether every design point on your product meets the actual needs. And whether it meets the actual environment when it is used.
It seems that many products are not well thought out. Too many leaders are self-indulgent in making products. They are very narcissistic. It is difficult to objectively analyze the customer's usage behavior and habits, and the products made do not conform to the actual practical situation.
Take our gravity toothpick as an example. I found that there are many such toothpicks on the market during my previous work. The good thing about them is that they are all in the form of toothpicks with boxes. The environment of the toothpicks is sealed, relatively hygienic and clean, and can be carried with you.
The problem is that they did not combine this product with the actual situation. For example, if the toothpick is hung on the body, most of them are connected through a fixed key ring. This connection method makes it impossible for you to take it off separately every time you use the toothpick, which actually creates a pain point in the use of the product. Although other product problems have been solved, the product has brought new pain points, which also need to be solved.
So we figured out a one-handed quick-opening method to solve this problem.
Another example is our compass. There are countless types of compasses on the market? In fact, when we investigated a little more deeply, we found that there are two conditions that must be met for the use of the compass. One is that it needs to be always horizontal, and the other is to find the angle between the direction you are moving in and the direction of the mercy, and remember the direction you are moving in.
We have solved the problem of the compass being horizontal. I sold this product to others, so it is not convenient to describe it too much.
In addition, we grasped the details of using the compass to identify the direction. If you only rely on a compass, it will always point to the direction of Cibei, but we are going to a direction that has a certain angle with the direction of the mercy. There is a question here. In the fatigue of the long journey, will you always remember the direction you are moving in? What if you forget or count the wrong grid or remember it wrong? Will this cause a huge blow to your progress?
So we thought that we can lock your direction in advance with the map. Fix the angle of advance on the wheel in advance, so that every time you only need to align the set scale line with the arrow of magnetic north, you will naturally see the direction you need to move in. It is very convenient to remember and not easy to make mistakes. With just this small improvement, I believe that the use of the compass will become more convenient.
If this product is to be really good, it must be combined with people's actual usage. You have to consider every scenario before you take out the product, during the use of the product, and after the use of the product. This is a design plan that completes the closed loop of use. This is what we are doing, making products that truly meet the actual situation of customer use.
